Holy Cow!

So, our first show and shine with the Gorgeous Georges fleet was a huge success. Everyone loved the trailers, and even some neighbors came down to check it out. Good job girls, they were a hit. The Queen Bee is seriously in the home stretch, and another week, it will be all the way done. Yay! Now for the big news, drum roll please... all the tin made it back on the Shack. It went back together, WOW. We are most impressed with Rocketman Ricky's skills. Great job!

"Labor " Day Weekend

All I can say is WOW! Ricky is the man!!! The tin is being put back on The Shack, and the new frame work is amazing. Both of the side walls are back in place, and soon the top will be on. Congrats to the Olivers, you are making huge progress. And now for the Queen Bee. it has a counter top, and curtains. We are making some progress. This next Saturday we would love to have all the Gorgeous Georges on display at the church for the show and shine. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Weekend Warriors

So, another Saturday has come and gone, and more trailer work has been done. The Shack is close to having a wall frame put back up. Ricky almost done replacing the rotten wood on one of the side walls, and soon it will be ready to be attached to the trailer frame, and with a little faith, and a lot of luck when all the frames are back up, hopefully the tin will go back on, correctly. Let's all hope, but for now, it is coming along great. On the finishing end of things, the Queen Bee is coming along nicely. There are just a few random things to paint, and still waiting for the faucet to come in so that the counter top can be finished. The curtains are cut, and will be put together this week. The end is closer than ever. Yes! Soon we will be on the road.

Work Day

This Saturday was a huge work day for the trailers. Both the Queen Bee, and The Shack made huge progress in their construction. the Queen Bee is almost there, with just some finishing work to do. It now has trim around the windows, and is almost ready for curtains, and other such luxuries. I am counting the days. As far as The Shack goes, it now has a sub floor, and is on it's way to being a work of art! Keep up the great work.

The Latest In Projects Has Arrived!

Emily Jane has inherited the cutest trailer ever from her neighbor. It is all metal with two stripes, that will be freshened up with new paint. It needs a rebuild on the inside, and a good polish on the outside, but soon it will be looking bright and beautiful. Torr and Emily are up for the challenge, and we have suggested a name to go along with the horse shoe and handkerchief theme, "Lucky Me" will be restored to it's original glory, or should we say... lucky Emily!!! Let's all pitch in and do it!

Girl Trip Fun

As usual we had a blast on the annual Girls Trip. We started in Newport this year, and ended in Astoria. The coast was perfect. We saw and did many things, and the kids were great. The Girls Trip is the most anticipated trip of the year, and always ends up being the most fun. Some highlights from this year are, of course, the Newport Aquarium, the kids love it, Tillamook cheese factory, the beach at Seaside, and a truck ride around Fort Steven's. There were lots of other great things we did also, and for all those that missed it, we hope to see you all next year.

Trailer updates.

So the latest updates are now available on this sight. Here is the low down. Ricky has done a fabulous job on the base of "The Shack" all the rust is gone, and there is a coating of rubberized paint on it. It's Nice!!! The "Queen Bee" has a counter top piece cut for it thanks to Jim Olson. I can feel the home stretch coming on.

Time for a Round up!

Can I just say Hooray for the Girl's Trip!! I am so excited and antsy to hook up my Old Glory and head on out! I'm sorry that not everyone will be going this year...we are going to miss you and your kiddos! It's hard to find a time when everyone is able to go. We'll do some more camping before the summer is over though!
It's super late and I can't sleep, so I'm putting this little post in here to calm myself down and hopefully slow my brain down enough
to sleep. So those of you who are planning on going, take Maile's advice and don't back out now!

Tiki in Trouble?

We're not sure yet of the outcome on Summer's newest acquisition, but Ricky and Summer carefully peeled away the tin on saturday to reveal the bare bones of the Traveling Tiki Hut! It's pretty crazy to look at, but they are going to replace the rotten (dark) wood and hopefully bring it back to life and it will be even cuter than before. It's fun because they will customize it for their family to work and function the way they want it to. Good Luck you two!!!

And More Progress

Gordon was at work tonight in the Queen Bee, and all of the cabinets were installed. They look great! I have to give the credit of the cabinets to John, they are exactly what I would have pick out. You the man John. While they were being installed I was installing the lights at the same time, and with only two swear words, the lights were put in, but when I went to go plug in the cord, it shorted out big time. So after took the main light back out thinking that was the problem, Gordon and I realized that the problem was in the main line from the box to the plug. Apparently Gordon put a screw through it. So Tome, Summer, and I pulled out the computer to find the picture of where the wiring so we could figure out which screw we needed to back out. Well anyway, we found it, and the electrical is back in business, and we are one huge step closer to finishing!

Floor!

I have a floor, Yes!!! And it looks good. The Queen Bee is coming along, and will soon be able to join the fleet in our next camping trip. It's all just putting back together from here.

Summer and Ricky have started ripping apart the new trailer (no name), there is a lot of work to be done, but it seems that they are up for the challenge. Good Luck!

Paint!

Finally, I am on a roll! The Queen Bee officially has paint on the walls, next to come... the floor, hopefully on Saturday. Will keep everyone posted.

Queen Bee Has Walls! And a New Addition!

Well, here is the latest on the Queen Bee... There are walls, and a ceiling. Sean worked hard before he left, so we should have it ready for Memorial Day. I textured yesterday, and am planning to paint today since there are no Baseball games tonight! So hurray for that.

On to bigger news, we have added a new trailer to the fleet!!! I here groaning from the male section of the family. Summer is starting a new project for herself, and it is a big one. Good luck to Summer (and Ricky). Any name suggestions would be great.

First trailer trip of 2009!

Monica and I, Tome, dusted off two of the four trailers on the hill and took them to the coast a couple of weekends ago. We have a list of repairs for Ty and Tori for their trailer to re-waterproof it, so that it will be ready for more trips this year!

I finally got to use some of my pots and pans in my trailer! I discovered that my stove works fabulously and that I love love love having my trailer at the coast (if it rains, you can hang out inside and stay dry). We did find out that you can't sneak around towing Gorgeous Georges trailers though (especially the Pink Lady)! Hyrum passed us on our way home and we stopped to see Tiana and the rest of their family and their house project. It's a big project but will be awesome when they are done and will be able to move out of that super small apartment above the garage! It was fun to see all of them and see how much all the kids have grown.

We will have to plan more trips and find routes that Tish, John and Peyton can meet us halfway and join in on the fun, so we can meet up with them more often. Any destination ideas? I think maybe Bend or high desert maybe?

Also, I think that Old Glory is ready for her stars, and some tongue and bumper paint! Bring on the wire brushes and rattle cans!

Gorgeous Georges On Display

Hey girls, we have been called and asked to put the fleet on display for the Ashland ward enrichment night on June 4th, I think is the date. If it is a different day, I will let you know. Anyway, they will be open to tour, and there will be dutch oven cooking, and all the great stuff that goes along with camping. Invite your friends who want to check out the trailers, and lets have some fun, this is our first showing! Isn't it great!
