Always trust a fortune from a cookie!

So, I did the last post about how the coast was calling our names, and it has been confirmed. Yesterday we ordered rice from a Chinese restaurant for our employee luncheon and I went to pick it up and the lady gave me a fortune cookie. Here's the actual fortune:

It's hard to read in the photo, but it says:
"You will do well to take a vacation traveling to the west."
I'm telling you....maybe we should all start living our lives according to the fortunes we get in our cookies!

We need to go camping!

I am just going to leave a little note that we need to go camping!!! I hear the coast calling our names....telling us that it will be so fun to come watch the waves, maybe do a little crabbing and let the kids play in the sand! Soon Monica's boys will be done with football and we can help get their trailer done, so that the Queen Bee can officially have her maiden voyage and our current Caravan will all be in tip top shape. We are still looking for a trailer as far as I know for Emily Jane (or Emily girlfriend-if you ask Maile what her name is). So just so that everyone knows how much we all miss going on our little trailer travels I had to add this little note.

Here We Go Again

Danielle, and Monica were recently re inspired to get going on the Queen Bee, so we dove in full speed ahead. All the insulation is in, and the wiring is done, so now on to the next step of putting up the walls, and rebuilding to suit our needs. It is coming along great, and Danielle is finally starting to feel some Senior Project success!

Ready to Camp in the Pink Lady!

Tyson was just trying out his new camping outfit. Doesn't it go well with the Mountain Dew shirt?

Places To Go, And Things To See

It looks like our poll was a success, and there are several places we shouldn't miss. There were three places that received 100% of the votes. Seaside, Fort Stevens, and Bandon. We can tell what everyone's favorite places are to go. We need to start planning our Girl's Trip, so everyone needs to suggest dates, and if gas prices get any higher, we may have to do the Southern Oregon Coast from Bandon to Crescent City, instead of the Northern Oregon Coast. What do you think of that? Or should we just suck it up and go? It's time to get on the road!

Cracking The Whip Works

Well, I hate to admit, but I'm a mean wife. But it has been over a year since we started the Queen Bee, and not much got done on it, so Julee will be out of town most of June, leaving Greg by himself, and he, Sean, and Brett have all these great plans, I had to put my foot down. Sean has no freedom until his part of the trailer is done, so he is working very hard to get it done. And also I have to throw a shout out to Brett who is also lending a hand to get Sean out of trailer prison. Thank you.

But I have to admit it is going well. The sub floor is in and complete, as well as all the windows and roof sealed, and to top it all off, almost all the electrical is done. Imagine that. We are making some headway, or Sean is, who if he wines about all the work he did ignore him, he prefers to work alone. Or with Brett.

First Family Camping Trip of the Season!

The kids went down to the playground with Summer and we had a "flash flood" while they were walking back, so they were totally soaked! They stripped down to underwear, wrapped in blankets and laid on the trailer bed to read books. I am still impressed with the way Peyton sits to eat. He will sit still on her lap and just eat from her plate until he's done! We had a great time eventhough it rained.

Here is Maile playing with crafts from the box that Summer brought that never made it to Georgia, since they flew instead of driving. The box kept the kids busy during the rain. Kai was just hanging with everyone.

The Queen Bee Has Paint!

Finally, I'm feeling like we are getting somewhere, The paint is complete, and it looks great! Thanks to the Great Gordon. But the inside is still a huge project, that isn't getting done very fast. I'll just have to keep on pushing until it's done. Soon the stickers will be on, and the window cover finished, and it will be so beautiful.

Painting Day!

This weekend the Great Gordon broke out the gun, and started painting. The Pink Lady was completed, and is a lovely shade of bright pink and black. It is so pretty. The Queen Bee came up a little short in the yellow department and has to have another coat in on Monday, but the color is stunning! What an exciting weekend for the Gorgeous Georges!

Silver Lining's Maiden Trip

McKenna was the first packed and ready to go.
This past weekend we took out
Silver Lining for her maiden trip. We drove up to Joseph Stewart Park up at Lost Creek. What a easy way to camp. We spent most the time in the trailer as we were only up there 13 hours. We even made breakfast inside as it was less work. I told Dusty, I didn't feel like we went camping. It's a strange concept to me, taking a house with you instead of a tent. I'm sure it will wear on me and I will soon find tent camping something foreign. It sure it nice to have a trailer when you have children. We set up the kids bed, plugged in the night light, read stories and went to bed like we do at home. We're excited for many more camping trips this season.

Pink Lady Had Her Flowers Picked

Tyson and Tori are making progress on the sanding of the Pink Lady, and this weekend sanded off the flowers. They are within reach of painting this coming weekend! Mean while on the Queen bee front, things are progressing along nicely. The new floor has been mostly put in, and we are hoping to put electrical, insulation, and walls this week, as well as the new Bamboo flooring, and exterior paint. It's all so exciting!

Just Sanding Away

OK, I can't find the camera, I have decided it's a lost cause, so I got a new one. Jared and I started sanding today, and got one side of the Queen Bee sanded. Tome and I went and ordered stickers today for everyone, and Sean started replacing the floor. So for the Queen Bee it has been a big day! All I want for mother's day is some labor on my trailer, and it looks like all my dreams will come true!

Queen Bee Update.

Well girls, the floor is out, and we are well on our way to a new trailer! Unfortunately my camera is lost with all the pictures on it, so if anyone spots it, please call me. Today I am going to trade dad for his truck for my suburban (since we have our truck out on loan), and go use some of my gift card from Home Depot to get things to finish the floor. Also The sanding has started on Pink Lady, and Queen Bee, so hopefully we will have new paint before memorial day.

First Trip of the Season!

Calling all GG. We are ready to head out for our first trip of the season. Get your trailers out! Stewart Park is calling our names and the lake will be good fishing for the kids. It has been proposed that we go May 23rd, through May 26th. So dust off the trailers girls, and get ready for summer. We are hittin' the road!!

Senior Projects and Power Tool. Do They Mix?

The Queen Bee is under way! Danielle came over Saturday, and started ripping apart the inside of the trailer. Everything is out now and ready for rebuilding, except for the walls that Sean wants to take out one at a time so that he can rebuild them easier. Danielle got to use some power tools and now she has a new skill. She has already developed several skills doing this project, and has enjoyed it a lot. But when it comes to a battle of power tool and body weight, most of the time the power tool wins. Sean and Monte burned all the wood, and again more of the trailer went up in flames. Making progress, and ready to camp!

The New Silver Lining

After a lot of prep work all week, we were ready to paint on Saturday. Thanks to Gordon's amazing painting skills, we have a new trailer the Silver Lining. Next to us, the neighbors couldn't be happier with the new paint job. We are excited to start camping in style. We now have a trailer, thanks to attempting to sleep in the van with kids last year and promising we wouldn't do it again.

Old Glory

Ok, I have updated my slideshow with after pictures. Now you can see what it looked like first before we tore everything out and then the new trailer afterwards!

First Of Many Dump Runs

I pulled all the loose items out of the "Queen Bee" and the renovation is under way! There is hardly any sign that it was once pea soup green on the inside. Hopefully by this weekend we can have the walls out and start putting in new electrical. Brett is working on some diamond plate for the front to replace the fiberglass. It looks like things are under way. Happy trailering!

Silver Lining Update

Here are some before and afters of our trailer. We spent the weekend putting in baseboard, working on the stove, sanding the outside for a new paint job and putting in our new bench/storage/bed. Thanks to Gordon for his help with the bench. It's beautiful and works great. Thanks to my Mom for all her work with the curtains, bedding and upholstery. Tori helped paint and Sean helped with some of the floor. Thank you. Now the inside is looking close to done. After pulling out a lot inside, this is what we have done. Enjoy.
Entry

The bed used to be along the left side of the trailer. We put the bed in the back and made it bigger.

We took out the old storage area, and put in the bench/storage/bed. It will work great for the kids to sleep on.

Gorgeous Georges #3 "Old Glory" was started in May 2006 so that I would be able to go on the girls trip that year. We made most of it in time for the trip, but since then we've been adding to it. I realized that I don't have any new pics with it all done, so you'll just have to keep checking back and see the finished product! Enjoy, Tome!

Paint Update

Here is the skinny on those that are waiting for exterior paint. It has to be 60 degrees outside for the paint to cure, and with recent circumstances being snow, we will have to wait. But hopefully soon. The new trailer needs very little exterior work, so by the time it warms up "Queen Bee" will be ready along with "Silver Lining" and "Pink Lady". We will be looking great by the time summer rolls around, but until then we will have to endure our lovely Oregon weather.

New Arrival

A foot of fresh snow couldn't keep Monica from bringing home a new trailer yesterday. It's time to get busy!!! Are you excited girls?
